A Four Step Process

By the time your website gets to the development phase of our 4 stage process, things are pretty much set for this iteration. All that is left now is to turn those thoughtful designs into clean code that builds a blazing fast website. At the start of this phase, you will be invited to a Trello board and a password-protected staging site for your new website. As each template is built, you will see its card appear in your Client review column. You can then raise any issues with that template as a separate card on the same Trello board. It might sound complicated, but the drag-and-drop functionality is child’s play and gives you granular control over issue tracking and project status.

We broke down the web development process and tried to make it easier for you as a client. Here are some of the benefits we built in

Communication

We don’t only like to get to know you on calls. As a remote team we believe in the power of async communication, so we use Slack during the design & development process. You can always ping your developer for a progress update. You’ll be invited to a Trello board so that you can track the development of each template and raise any issues you might find. Although we manage the project for you, it gives peace of mind to know what stage of the lifecycle your project is at.

Code repository

You’ll also be invited to the code repository for your website where you can review the code we write. The git based workflow inherent in your code repository gives us version control as well as branching capabilities. This means we can offer A/B testing, staging sites and backups as part of our hosting packages. If you want to collaborate with us on the development of new features for your website then these can be developed and tested in private on a separate branch of your website, that only gets merged when you’re ready.

BEM methodology

We really like code that is human readable. BEM or Block Element Modifier means that we have written the code for your website so that not only can we read it in the future but should you wish to hand it off to another development team they will be able to read it too.
